Located just a short thirty kilometers from the Mediterranean coast and Barcelona, the story of Parés Baltà began in 1790 when the first vineyards were planted on the estate. These vineyards still surround the manor house today and are looked after by the Cusiné family who have been tending to them for the past three generations. This family has a strong legacy of female winemakers. María Elena and Marta, wives of Joan and Josep Cusiné, have overseen the estate’s winemaking for more than 20 years. Both graduates of the University of Tarragona’s oenology program, they have brought innovation and experimentation to the winery, combining the family’s traditional biodynamic approach with new methods to create organic wines and cava full of character.
