Parés Baltà Materia Prima Orange 2025 is a vibrant, characterful orange wine that showcases the more adventurous side of this pioneering organic Penedès producer. Made from organically grown white grapes with extended skin contact, it combines the aromatic freshness of a white wine with the texture and complexity more often associated with reds.
Expect notes of orange peel, apricot and dried citrus, alongside hints of wild herbs and gentle spice. The palate is textured and savoury, with a subtle grip that adds interest without overwhelming the wine’s bright, refreshing character. Distinctive yet highly drinkable, it’s an excellent introduction to orange wine. Great with grilled prawns, Middle Eastern mezze or roasted cauliflower with tahini.

Vintage report
The 2025 vintage in Penedès is, frankly, too recent for us to report on with the confidence it deserves — harvest was only completed in autumn 2024 for the 2024 vintage, and 2025 wines are still finding their feet in barrel and tank as we write. What we can say is that the region continues to navigate the pressures of a warming Mediterranean climate with increasing sophistication, with growers making meaningful choices about altitude, canopy management, and harvest timing that are shaping quality as much as the weather itself.
We will update this note properly once we have tasted widely from the vintage. In the meantime, if you are looking for drinking now pleasure from Penedès, the 2022s and 2023s are delivering handsomely — particularly from Xarel·lo and Garnatxa Blanca at altitude, where freshness has been preserved without sacrificing concentration.
