Domaine Georges Roumier is based in Chambolle-Musigny at the heart of the Côte de Nuits. Founded in 1924 by Georges Roumier, the domaine was built through marriage into vineyard-owning families, giving it access to some of Chambolle’s finest sites. Today it is run by his grandson, Christophe Roumier, who has cemented the estate’s legendary status while remaining firmly traditional in approach.
The domaine farms around 11.8 hectares, with exceptional holdings including Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, Chambolle-Musigny Premier Crus Les Amoureuses and Les Cras, Morey-Saint-Denis Clos de la Bussière, and village Chambolle-Musigny, as well as Musigny produced from purchased fruit. Many vines are old, naturally limiting yields and enhancing concentration.
Viticulture is meticulous and increasingly sustainable, while winemaking is classical and restrained: careful sorting, partial whole-cluster use depending on the vintage, gentle extraction and ageing in oak with a modest proportion of new wood. The wines are benchmarks for finesse and balance — perfumed, textural and capable of long ageing — making Roumier one of the most sought-after names in Burgundy.
