The 2022 Bourgogne Rouge from Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier is a beautifully pure, finely detailed Pinot Noir that far exceeds its regional appellation. Aromas of red cherry and crushed strawberry are lifted by a touch of spice and freshness. The palate is poised and precise, with bright red fruit, balanced acidity and a subtle peppery note on the finish, all delivered with the finesse and clarity that define the Roumier style.
Made from old-vine Pinot Noir close to the domaine’s Chambolle-Musigny holdings and aged mainly in older barrels, this is a serious Bourgogne Rouge — approachable in youth, yet with enough balance to reward short-term cellaring.
It pairs effortlessly with roast chicken or guinea fowl, grilled pork or veal with herbs, mushroom risotto, lentil or root vegetable dishes, and classic bistro fare such as steak frites or beef bourguignon, where its freshness and elegance really come into their own.
