Domaine Georges & Christophe Roumier is one of Burgundy’s most revered family estates, celebrated for wines that combine remarkable purity with an almost effortless sense of place. While the domaine is best known for its prestigious holdings in Chambolle-Musigny and Bonnes-Mares, the Bourgogne Rouge receives the same meticulous attention in both vineyard and cellar, making it one of the most sought-after wines at its level.
The 2023 vintage captures the domaine’s hallmark elegance and precision. Sourced from carefully tended vineyards across the Côte de Nuits, it offers an accessible introduction to the Roumier style while retaining a seriousness that sets it apart from many regional Burgundies. Vinified with a light touch and aged in oak that supports rather than dominates, the wine is all about purity of fruit, balance and finesse.
Expect vibrant aromas of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry, alongside subtle floral notes and a hint of spice. The palate is silky and energetic, with bright red fruit, fine tannins and a freshness that carries through to a long, graceful finish. A Bourgogne Rouge in name perhaps, but unmistakably Roumier in character.
