Meurgey-Croses is the négociant project of Pierre Meurgey, one of Burgundy’s most gifted and thoughtful winemakers. The focus here is on carefully selected fruit from the Mâconnais and Chablis, sourced from trusted growers and long-standing relationships. As Pierre puts it, the guiding principles are “precision, purity and freshness,” with far less reliance on oak than in the wines bottled under his own name, ensuring the wines are expressive and approachable from release.

Vinification is handled with the same care as Pierre’s domaine wines: gentle handling, measured élevage and a clear emphasis on balance and clarity rather than weight. Alongside Meurgey-Croses, Pierre is involved in several highly regarded projects, including Domaine Clos de la Chapelle in Volnay, and his skill both in fruit selection and winemaking is evident throughout the range.

The Meurgey-Croses wines consistently offer outstanding value, delivering authentic Burgundy character without the premium price tag. Standout cuvées include the vibrant Viré-Clessé Vieilles Vignes — described by Neal Martin as “well worth seeking out” — alongside the refined Pouilly-Fuissé and the crisp, expressive Mâcon-Uchizy.
