Made exclusively from 100% Sangiovese grown on the south-eastern slopes of Montalcino, Patrizia Cencioni Rosso di Montalcino 2021 offers a youthful, vibrant expression of the estate's vineyards. The outstanding 2021 vintage is widely regarded as one of Tuscany's finest in recent years, producing wines with exceptional concentration, freshness and balance. Aged for around 12 months before bottling, this Rosso captures the purity of the fruit while retaining the elegance that defines the estate's classically styled wines.

The nose is lifted and expressive, with aromas of red cherry, wild raspberry and violet, complemented by subtle notes of dried herbs, sweet spice and a hint of tobacco. The palate is bright and energetic, with silky tannins, vibrant acidity and layers of juicy red fruit carried by a savoury mineral backbone.

An elegant, food-friendly Tuscan red, this is perfect partner for pappardelle with wild boar ragù, grilled pork, roast chicken or aged Pecorino.

OUR GROWERS

Patrizia Cencioni

Patrizia Cencioni is a family-owned winery in Montalcino, founded in 1989 by Patrizia Cencioni and now run alongside her daughters, Annalisa and Arianna. The estate's roots stretch back to the 1950s, when Patrizia's grandfather, Giuseppe Cencioni, established one of the area's early wine estates and became one of the founding members of the Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino.

The estate covers around 50 hectares, including approximately 9 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards dedicated primarily to Brunello di Montalcino, alongside 7 hectares of olive groves. The vineyards lie at around 350 metres above sea level on the south-eastern slopes of Montalcino, overlooking the Val d'Orcia, where altitude, well-drained soils and wide day-night temperature swings help produce wines with freshness, structure and longevity.
