Darling Cellars’ Low Alcohol Shiraz is made on South Africa’s cool Atlantic-influenced west coast, where long, slow ripening helps build flavour at lower sugar levels. The aim is a genuinely wine-like expression rather than a sweetened substitute, retaining the varietal character of Shiraz while keeping alcohol modest.
It is produced as a fully fermented Shiraz, after which alcohol is gently reduced using modern de-alcoholisation techniques designed to preserve aroma and texture. The result is a softly structured, easy-going red that keeps the dark berry fruit and subtle spice of Shiraz, but with a lighter body and fresher feel, making it an approachable option for relaxed drinking or lighter meals.
