Domaine De L'Arlot Côte De Nuits Villages Clos Du Chapeau is a vibrant red with plenty of raspberry and blackberry fruit aromas and flavours, with hints of new oak which will melt into the wine in a year or so. Medium bodied, it is well balanced with fruit foremost. An excellent wine.
Located in the village of Comblanchien, Clos Du Chapeau is a hat-shaped plot which is where its name comes from. The vines cover a surface of 1.6 hectares on soil that is a mixture of clay and limestone, ideal for revealing the pleasures of the Pinot Noir. Yields are limited to 35 hectolitres per hectare.
Thanks to a gentle élevage using in this vintage just 20% of new barrels, the Clos Du Chapeau never appears too oaky - the new oak is just a spice that brings out the best in the wine. It is bottled after 14 months in barrel.
