Château Fonroque 2020 is a confident, beautifully judged expression of this biodynamically farmed Saint-Émilion property. The warm, dry growing season produced small, concentrated berries, yet careful vineyard work preserved freshness and balance.
Deep in colour, it opens with ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry, layered with violet, cocoa and a subtle graphite note from the limestone soils. The palate is plush and textured, with generous dark fruit framed by fine, polished tannins and a streak of mineral freshness that brings lift and precision. Rich but controlled, it balances depth with poise and will age gracefully for many years.
It pairs superbly with roast lamb, beef fillet, duck breast or rich mushroom dishes, where the wine’s structure and dark fruit character really come into their own.
