The Armand de Brignac estate is a luxurious and iconic expression of Champagne, renowned for its bold style, supreme craftsmanship and striking gold bottle design.

Having grown vines for more than 250 years, the Cattier family first started producing Champagne in 1918 after wounded war veteran Jean Cattier found himself unable to sell his poor harvest, and decided to turn the grapes into wine. Based in the Montagne de Reims, their 33 hectares of vines comprise some of the most sought-after crus in the villages of Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses and Ludes, resulting in a Champagne of the most exceptional quality now produced by 12th and 13th generation growers Jean-Jacques Cattier and his son Alexandre.

2006 would mark a major milestone in the Cattier family's vaunted history with the creation of the prestigious 'Armand de Brignac' Champagne, colloquially known as 'Ace of Spades'. In the 1950s, Nelly Cartier, mother to Jean-Jacques, discovered a character called 'M. de Brignac' in a novel she was reading and found it so noble she registered it for use on a future wine. It was long forgotten until the creation of this new tête de cuvée, when Jean-Jacques decided to pay tribute to his mother by using the special name.

With music star Jay-Z a big fan, the range has gained many prestigious accolades, such as being voted No.1 Champagne in the world at a blind tasting of 1,000 brands in 2010, as well as awarded No.1 Blanc de Noirs Champagne in the world in 2016. Stored in cellars considered among the deepest and oldest in Champagne, each bottle is finished with a unique dosage, comprising the finest base wine of the harvest and aged for 1 year in new French oak, resulting in complex wines with hints of baked pastry, vanilla and toastiness.

Every bottle of Armand de Brignac is coated in metal, finished with the hand application of French pewter labels and polished. As a result, no two bottles are ever the same making Ace of Spades one of the world's most sought after sparkling wines.
