Non-Vintage in Rioja simply means the wine in your glass is a blend drawn from more than one harvest, rather than the product of a single year. It's a deliberate choice by the producer — a way of maintaining a consistent house character regardless of what the weather threw at them in any given summer. If one harvest runs a little leaner, another can bring the richness to balance it out. The result, done well, is a wine that tastes reassuringly like itself every time you open a bottle. What you're buying into is the winemaker's palate and vision rather than the lottery of a particular vintage. For everyday drinking, that kind of reliability is no bad thing at all.
