Sol De Andes Sauvignon Blanc has bright gooseberry aromas with a suggestion of more tropical, peachy fruit over the top. Fresh and lively on the palate with a clean refreshing acidity and a vibrant finish. Pleasingly long for such an affordable wine.

Sauvignon Blanc is an expensive grape to grow well. It is extremely vigorous and requires a great deal of training and pruning to keep it in check. Also, if the soil and climate it grows in are not totally suited to its requirements then the resulting wine can easily end up being either tart and lean or bland and flabby. Rest assured, however; you have nothing to worry about with this Sol De Andes Sauvignon Blanc.

Sol De Andes was founded in 1993 in the Maule Valley. Their philosophy is to produce elegant and enjoyable wines that highlight the distinct characteristics of each grape variety by combining cutting-edge technology with traditional winemaking skills. Sol De Andes (“Sun of the Andes”) takes its name from the sun that illuminates the vineyards. The region’s poor soils, excellent exposure to sunshine and the absence of rain at harvest time are unique and invaluable conditions for the production of quality wines. The 450 hectares of Sol De Andes vineyards are located in the foothills of the Andes in the Maule, Casablanca and Colchagua Valleys where the influence of the Pacific moderates the climate and where the diurnal temperature fluctuation preserves the balance and freshness of the wines.
