A wine built for drinking now, Meurgey's Les Bas Liards has good ripe fruit flavours with cherry dominant with some light spice notes behind. There is a faint whiff of vanilla from the cask maturation but everything is well integrated and this is very much a wine for current drinking with some good hearty meat dishes.
This wonderful wine is made from 40 year old vines in this small vineyard close to the centre of the village of Savigny-Lès-Beaune.
