Santenay Rouge, Domaine Benoit Girardin, 2022 is a ripe, expressive Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s up-and-coming estates, showing why Santenay is gaining attention for quality reds.
On the nose it offers bright, pure red and dark fruit notes with a hint of spice and cedar, and the palate is supple and sappy with refined, silky tannins and a long, elegant finish that carries subtle savoury/earthy nuances. This wine combines lively fruit intensity with Burgundian finesse, making it enjoyable now yet capable of developing further over the next several years.
The 2022 vintage in Burgundy provided good ripeness and balance, and this bottle reflects that with its expressive aromatics and harmonious structure.
