This superb red Burgundy is the issue of 50 year old vines that give wines for keeping. The vineyard itself is situated between the Premier Crus of Les Vergelesses in Savigny and Les Vergelesses in Pernand-Vergelesses, hence the name 'Ile', or island.

This 2021 is sweetly fruited, rich in flavour with smooth ripe tannins. It is subtle and elegant but never lacking in depth of flavour - it is good to go now but will hold in bottle for a further 12 to 15 years. Drink it together with beef fillet, shoulder of lamb or a pink breast of duck.

Rapet is one of the most ancient families of the Côte D’Or and the estate is now under the control of Vincent Rapet and his charming wife Sylvette who manage the 20 hectares with skill and a keen eye to nature. Based in the village of Pernand- Vergelesses, Domaine Rapet’s vineyards lie on and around the hill of Corton.
