Pares Balta Mas Petit displays a deep, dark garnet colour. The nose is full of spice and smoke, along with blackberry, black olive, dried herbs and vanilla. The palate is medium-bodied and soft, with blackberry flavours along with pepper spice, more black olive and a touch of oak. Lots of berries and spice are on the finish with a final wrap of dusty tannins and a subtle touch of earthiness.
To make Parés Balt√† Mas Petit, perfectly ripe, old vine, Cabernet Sauvignon and Garnatxa (Grenache) grapes were fermented separately in stainless steel tanks to preserve their bright fruit and pleasant acidity. The wines were then blended before being aged in 2nd, 3rd and 4th fill French oak barrels for seven months.
