Bright and expressive, Raquillet's 2022 Mercurey Blanc is generous and rounded, yet lifted by a clean line of acidity that keeps everything fresh and focused. The finish is smooth, with a lovely balance of fruit, texture and subtle minerality.
There are certainly contenders in the Côte d’Or, but head a little further south into Mercurey and one name stands out: François Raquillet - crafting thoughtful, characterful wines that consistently over-perform.
The 2022 vintage brought warm, favourable conditions, resulting in wines with excellent fruit concentration and immediate charm, while retaining enough freshness to keep them lively and drinkable. La Brigadière is a great example: polished but not pretentious, expressive but balanced - a snapshot of both Mercurey and Raquillet’s style. Perfect with roast chicken, or seared scallops.
