Edouard Delaunay’s Marsannay “En Combereau” shows bright cherry and red berries on the nose, with subtle floral, herbal, and lightly smoky hints. The palate is smooth and velvety, with gentle tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral-tinged finish. The 2018 vintage was warm and ripe, giving generous red-fruit flavours while retaining freshness and fine tannins.

Approachable and refined, it pairs beautifully with roast chicken, pork, lightly spiced game, or mushroom dishes.

Edouard Delaunay

The house of Delaunay, founded in 1893, has a prestigious history and was renowned as one of the exclusive distributors of DRC (Domaine de la Romanée-Conti) and La Romanée until the 1940s. In the 1990s, it was sold to Jean Claude Boisset. However, in 2017, winemaker and fifth-generation family member Laurent Delaunay repurchased the name, winery, and cellars adjacent to the family home, Château de Chaumont, leading to the revival of the maison.
