The 2022 Partner Series Riesling from Kirrihill is a textbook Clare Valley white - bright, zesty, and refreshingly dry. Aromas of lime blossom, green apple, and citrus peel lead into a crisp, mineral-driven palate with concentrated lemon-lime fruit and a long, clean finish.
Sourced from cooler sites in Watervale and Hill River, this is a focused, age-worthy Riesling with great tension and energy. Fermented cool and aged in stainless steel to keep things pure and vibrant, it’s perfect now with seafood or spicy Thai, but has the structure to age gracefully for up to a decade.

Clare Valley had a dry, warm 2022 growing season — not dramatically unusual for this high-altitude slice of South Australia, but notably low-yielding, which concentrated flavours across the board. The region escaped the worst of the rain events that complicated harvests further south, and growers who managed canopy and water carefully came away with small, healthy bunches and good phenolic ripeness without sacrificing the acid tension that defines the Valley at its best.
The Rieslings are the story here, as they so often are. Lean, mineral, and wound tight, the best examples have the kind of latent energy that rewards patience — we'd give the more serious bottles until 2027 to 2030 before they really open up, though the lighter styles are drinking well right now with that characteristic lime-pith snap. Shiraz from the vintage is dark-fruited and structured, built for the medium term rather than immediate gratification. A solid, honest vintage rather than a legendary one — which often means the best value.
