This classic Juliénas delivers everything we love about traditional Beaujolais – vibrant red fruits, floral lift, and a fine tannic backbone. Aromas of peony, raspberry, redcurrant, and strawberry jump from the glass, while the palate is bright, expressive, and lingers with a satisfying finish.

Made by the Vincent family, who’ve been rooted in the region for years, this wine is crafted the old-school way: partial de-stemming, fermentation in open tanks, and ageing in both barrel and tank. No carbonic maceration here, just pure, terroir-driven character from granite and slate soils.

It's drinking beautifully now, but has the structure to evolve gracefully over the next 6–8 years. First Class Beaujolais.

Vintage report

2018 was a generous year in Beaujolais — warm, ripe, and frankly rather easy to love. A dry, sunny summer with significant heat built concentration in the Gamay, and harvest arrived early with fruit in excellent condition. Yields were down in places, but what came off the vines had real density. The Crus particularly shone: Moulin-à-Vent and Morgon produced wines with more structure and grip than you might expect from such an opulent year, while Fleurie and Chiroubles leaned into the vintage's natural generosity without tipping into excess.

The wines have the kind of fruit weight that made them immediately appealing on release, but the better Crus have been quietly building rather than fading. If you bought well, there is no great rush — Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent from serious producers should hold comfortably until 2025 to 2028. Village wines and lighter Crus are in a sweet spot right now. Drink them.

Château-Fuissé comprises more than 40 hectares of vineyards, 25 of which are in Pouilly- Fuissé spread across more than 100 plots. They hold additional plots in Saint-Véran, Mâcon-Villages, Mâcon-Fuissé, Bourgogne-Blanc, and Juliénas.
