Bright lemon zest, white peach and crisp green apple jump out of the glass, followed by hints of almond, wild herbs and a subtle flinty edge. The palate is textured and focused, with vibrant acidity and a gently creamy mid-palate from time spent ageing, finishing long and mineral with a faint saline twist. It’s a wine with both energy and quiet depth.
Donnachiara Aletheia Greco di Tufo Riserva DOCG 2021 is a more serious, layered expression of Greco from the volcanic soils of Irpinia. Carefully selected fruit and extended maturation give it extra structure and ageing potential, while still keeping that hallmark freshness Greco does so well.
For something a little more imaginative at the table, try it with grilled octopus and lemon, saffron seafood risotto, or a roast fennel and orange salad with toasted almonds — dishes that play off its citrus lift and mineral backbone beautifully.
