Jane Eyre’s Côtes de Nuits-Villages 2020 is a confident, assured wine and a powerful opening statement in the range. Drawn from well-sited vineyards in this highly regarded appellation, it combines the natural generosity of the warm 2020 season with Jane’s trademark precision and restraint.

It's deep and darker in character, showing juicy, rich, almost chocolate-tinged berry fruit with real intensity. Despite the concentration, it remains fresh and energetic, the tannins carrying a spicy edge and the acidity keeping everything finely balanced.

This is ideal with herb-crusted lamb cutlets, duck breast with cherry or blackberry sauce, or a mushroom and lentil ragù. Its depth and spice also make it a great match for slow-cooked beef or game, while the freshness keeps it surprisingly versatile at the table.

Maison Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre’s rise in Burgundy has been an extraordinary story. Since her first vintage in 1998, Jane has honed her skills working alongside some of the world’s most respected winemakers, including Comtes Lafon, Ernie Loosen in the Mosel and Freddie Mugnier in Chambolle-Musigny. Her wines have gained critical acclaim from critics like Jancis Robinson, Tim Atkin, and Neal Martin. More recently she received her RVF second star and became the first woman to win the Negociant of the Year title in 2021.

Through gentle extraction techniques, thoughtful oak usage, and early bottling, Jane creates Burgundies that are accessible and appealing even in their early stages. Her wines have a distinct style - delicate and inviting, with supple tannins and vibrant fruits.
