Nestled in the heart of the Valpolicella region, Corte Adami is a family-run winery dedicated to showcasing the character of its vineyards through traditional methods and meticulous winemaking. Their Amarone della Valpolicella 2020 is crafted from carefully selected Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, dried for several months using the classic appassimento method to concentrate flavour and complexity before a long period of ageing.
The warm, balanced 2020 vintage has produced an Amarone that combines richness with freshness. Layers of ripe black cherry, plum and blackberry are joined by notes of dark chocolate, sweet spice, dried herbs and tobacco. Full-bodied yet remarkably poised, it offers velvety tannins, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury finish that keeps the wine elegant despite its concentration.
A perfect partner for slow-cooked beef, venison, braised lamb or mature hard cheeses such as Parmigiano Reggiano, this is a classic Amarone with the depth to cellar for another 10–15 years.

Vintage report
The 2020 vintage in Veneto arrived with textbook timing after a growing season that played by the rules. Spring brought steady, manageable rainfall that set the vines up beautifully, followed by a warm but not scorching summer that allowed for gradual ripening. The harvest unfolded exactly when producers wanted it to, with cool nights preserving freshness while sunny days concentrated flavours without rushing the process.
What emerged was a vintage of surprising polish and immediate charm. The Soaves show crystalline mineral precision alongside ripe stone fruit, while Valpolicella delivers vibrant cherry fruit with structure that doesn't overshadow the joy. Amarone producers found their grapes in superb condition for the crucial drying process, promising wines with both power and finesse. These wines are drinking brilliantly now and should continue rewarding patience until 2030, making 2020 one of those rare vintages that pleases both the impatient and the cellar-builders.
