This 4th growth from Margaux is a deliciously fruited, moderately powerful red with elegant fruit aromas as you would expect from Margaux. It still has (2021) the crimson rim and the nose is very fine with notes of raspberry and red currants together with hints of spice box. It is fresh and elegant on the palate with a delicious and lingering finish where the spices shine. It has decades left ahead of it yet it is sure to please immediately.

The 2018 vintage is a great expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and the dry finish to the year has given great elegance to the wines. As the Cabernet makes up 50% of this vintage it shows through perfectly here.

OUR GROWERS

Château Prieure Lichine

Château Prieure Lichine, classified as a Fourth Growth in 1855, is located in Margaux. The estate's history dates back to the 12th century, originally serving as a priory. Acquired by Alexis Lichine in 1951, today this is a real benchmark Château that we’re pleased to represent.
