Château Musar Red 2019 is one of the standout recent releases from Lebanon's iconic Bekaa Valley estate. An equal blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsault and Carignan, the 2019 vintage benefited from a cool, wet growing season that delivered exceptional balance, freshness and concentration. Aged for 12 months in French oak before extended bottle ageing, it follows Musar's unique philosophy of releasing wines only when they are beginning to reveal their character.
The wine opens with aromas of blueberry, blackcurrant and cranberry, layered with black olive, clove and sweet spice. The palate is deep and complex, combining ripe plum and cherry fruit with pepper, savoury herbs and silky, integrated tannins. Vibrant acidity gives the wine remarkable poise, while its long, savoury finish hints at the decades of evolution still to come. Although approachable on release, this is a wine that will continue to develop beautifully over the next 20–30 years.
