This is a château that we fell in love with many years ago when it was the sister château to Clinet in the days of Jean Michel Arcaute. Today it is owned by the Borie Manoux company and the wine is still a great quality buy.

As with most Pomerols, the La Croix Du Casse is based on Merlot, the 2019 is very very drinkable at present but promises much in the future too. Based on berry fruit aromas and flavours, this vintage has a good tannin structure and the kirsch and chocolate notes are wonderful in the finish. A great Pomerol at an attractive price.

Château la Croix du Casse

Situated in Pomerol, Château la Croix du Casse dates back to the early 20th century. Acquired by the Castéja family in 2005, it has since been revitalised with significant investments in the vineyard and cellar.

Covering 12 hectares, the vineyard is primarily planted with Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc. The estate follows sustainable viticulture practices, ensuring the health of the vines and soil. Vinification occurs in stainless steel, followed by ageing in French oak barrels. The resulting wines are lush and velvety, always popular at our tastings, showcasing the rich fruit and smooth tannins characteristic of Pomerol.
