A superb expression of Gigondas from the Brunel stable. A blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes that were vinified after a period of cold maceration to extract both full aromas and a deep colour. It was then aged before bottling in a mixture of tanks and oak barrels. Full on the palate it is forceful and intense with oodles of aromas and flavours of red fruits with notes of pepper and liquorice. It has a firm structure and great balance leaving a long and true aftertaste.
The appellation of Gigondas is from the heart of the Vaucluse and borders onto the Dentells de Montmirail. Wines were made there going back to Roman times where the repute for high quality wines that were both complex and strong started.
