Château Canet Minervois Rouge is a smooth, elegant red packed with dark berry flavours—think blackberry, cherry, and blackcurrant—lifted by floral notes and a hint of savoury Syrah spice. Juicy upfront, it gains complexity with subtle spice and velvety tannins, finishing long and moreish.
Mostly aged in stainless steel to keep the fruit fresh, with a touch of oak (just 15%) for added depth, it’s ready to drink now but will develop nicely over the next year or two. Stylish, great value, and equally suited to casual dinners or more refined occasions.

Vintage report
The 2021 growing season across the Languedoc was not an easy one. A cool, wet spring brought mildew pressure that demanded vigilance in the vineyard, and yields took a hit as a result. Summer eventually delivered the warmth the region needed, but the season ran later than usual, with harvest pushed back by several weeks compared to the scorching years that have become almost a norm here. The silver lining was a slow, measured ripening period that gave growers real time to develop phenolic maturity without the sugar rush that comes with brutal heat. Those who farmed carefully were rewarded.
What ended up in the vat was, frankly, rather good. The reds — Grenache, Syrah, Carignan — have freshness and definition that the hotter vintages can sometimes trade away for sheer power. Alcohol levels are more restrained, and the wines carry genuine tension alongside their fruit. Whites and rosés from 2021 are drinking well now and have been for a while. The reds are approachable already but the better ones have more to give; we'd hold the serious cuvées until 2025 to 2028 at least.
