Silky and medium-bodied, Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard's 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge 2019 shows pure Pinot Noir fruit with notes of red cherry, raspberry and violet, layered with subtle spice and a touch of earth. Fine tannins and fresh acidity give a poised, elegant finish. Pair with roast duck, pork tenderloin, mushroom dishes or soft, washed-rind cheeses.
The 2019 vintage in Burgundy delivered ripe, expressive reds thanks to warm, dry conditions, while retaining enough freshness to keep wines balanced and approachable, with the structure to age gracefully in the short to medium term.
Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard, founded in 1985, is a highly regarded family estate in Chassagne-Montrachet. Known for meticulous vineyard work and traditional winemaking, the domaine produces wines that combine clarity of fruit with a strong sense of place.
