Catherine Marshall's Sandstone Pinot Noir showcases vibrant aromas of fresh pomegranate seeds, cranberry, and red cherry, complemented by underlying savoury, ferrous notes. On the palate, juicy red fruit is balanced by dry, suede-like tannins that add texture and complexity.
The focus is on achieving a balance of ripe yet restrained fruit and layered complexity. This is accomplished by carefully selecting and blending clones grown in the cool-climate regions of Elgin and Hemel-en-Aarde, where the vines thrive on light, Table Mountain sandstone soils. A minimalist and natural winemaking approach ensures the integrity of the variety while emphasising seamless tannin integration and nuanced flavours.
Perfect for pairing with a wide range of dishes, this wine complements prawns, oily white fish, sashimi or sushi, mushroom risotto, Spanish paella, and Mediterranean-style vegetables.
