Casal da Coelheira's Red is a modern expression of the Tejo region, blending Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Alicante Bouschet to produce a wine that's generous, balanced and effortlessly drinkable. Partly matured in American oak, it combines ripe fruit with subtle spice while retaining the freshness that makes Portuguese reds such reliable food wines.
Expect aromas of blackberry, plum and dark cherry, complemented by hints of toasted oak, pepper and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins, vibrant black fruit and a touch of spice leading to a long, rounded finish. Equally at home with grilled meats, roast chicken or mature cheeses, it's an approachable red that's ready to enjoy now and will continue to drink well over the next few years.
