Twin brothers Laurent & David Siozard are the sixth-generation winemakers behind Vignobles Siozard. Together they run two domaines - Château du Claouset and Château Lapinesse - with prize vineyards in the heart of the Entre-Deux-Mers, sat opposite Saint-Emilion, as well as on the Left Bank in Graves, Sauternes and Barsac. Vignobles Siozard received the Sustainable Agriculture label “Terra Vitis” in 2016, was named a High Environmental Value company in 2018, and has been certified in Organic Agriculture since 2022 meaning all their grapes are grown free from synthetic chemicals.
Château Lapinesse gains its name from ‘La Pinesse’ and the Forêt des Landes. Initiated by Napoleon III in the middle of the 19th century, today Forêt des Landes is the largest artificial forest in Western Europe. It helps stabilize France’s coastal dunes and protects the agricultural land. In line with the Siozard brothers’ commitment to sustainability, all of the grapes for their Château Lapinesse Sauternes are hand-harvested.
