The land for this boutique estate was purchased in 1973 by Adino. Spinsanti but it wasn't until 1998 when his daughter, Catia, began producing wine. Situated in the hilly area of Camerano in the Conero National Park, This is a fairly mild area thanks to the proximity of the Adriatic and it is charcterised by the warm days and cool nights which guarantee good sugar levels and aromatic compounds in the grapes.
Catia is passionate about the working practices and everything is done by hand, from picking to every step along the way in the winery, assuring the gentlest of treatment to the wines. Yields are restricted to ensure the vine produces the finest of grapes for her to work her magic in the cuverie.
The vines grown on the estate are predominantly Montepulciano with a supporting cast of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon for the reds and the rare Incrocio Bruni 54 for the whites, a variety that is a cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Verdicchio and is only to be found in this area of the world. The latter has wonderful aromas and gives a good structured white wine that is a wonderful food wine.
All in all, this is an excellent small estate that is producing world class wines.
