Owned by Roger Saumaize and Christine Michelin, this small Vergisson domaine has garnered admiration from critics including Neal Martin, Allen Meadows, and William Kelley for its wines that rival even premier crus of the Côte d’Or. Since 2005, the estate’s 50+-year-old vines have been farmed biodynamically, with hand-harvesting, gentle lees stirring, and judicious use of new oak to preserve the purity of the fruit.

The wines are expressive and refined, combining richness and volume with tension, energy, and a subtle exotic character that reflects the unique terroir of Pouilly-Fuissé. Each cuvée showcases a balance of power and elegance, making Saumaize-Michelin one of the Mâconnais’ most compelling domaines.
