The old vines of Domaine Lucien Boillot have been handed down through the Boillot family. Pierre Boillot who manages the domaine today inherited the vineyards from his father Henri Boillot, who was originally from Volnay in the Côtes de Beaune. Pierre worked together with his brother Louis for years, but a few years ago they parted ways and split the family holdings.

Pierre’s portion of the holdings still bear his father’s name and is made up of some noteworthy plots: Volnay Les Angles, which was originally classified as a top Volnay premier cru site in the 19th century, Gevrey Cherbaudes which sits beside Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru and Gevrey Corbeaux which borders Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru. Pierre limits the amount of new oak used at the estate, resulting in wines that bring plenty of ripe fruit flavour.
