Bordeaux, France

Owned by the Bonnie family of Malartic-Lagravière, and utilising their winemaking team, including the services of consultant Michel Rolland, Gazin Rocquencort is real hidden gem from the best value, over-performing sub- region in Bordeaux, Pessac-Léognan, where the Château occupies a superb gravelly hilltop, harvesting fruit from a single block of 22 hectares.

The 45% Merlot in the blend (the other 55% is Cabernet) ensures a sufficiently hedonic style from the slightly strict 2014 vintage and right now this is showing an impressive balance of fruit purity and mid-palate richness and depth.
