Quinta do Piloto is heir to the Cardoso family’s four-generation winemaking tradition in Palmela. Its wines are the result of blends chosen from 200 hectares of vineyards in the best terroirs of the region. The history of Quinta do Piloto spans four generations of the Cardoso family, who have been carefully crafting blends from the best terroirs of the region for over a century. They are a long-respected name in Moscatel production and are today led by Filipe Cardoso who employs a traditionalist method. While entry level, the Quinta do Piloto Moscatel de Setúbal Superior is an exemplary Portuguese vintage dessert wine made from 100% Moscatel de Alexandria, aged for around 10 years, but only released when the winemakers determine the vintage is ready. The extended oak aging allows for the integration and balancing of acidity and sweetness, and for the development of secondary complexity.
