Château-Fuisse Pouilly-Fuisse Tete De Cuvée is sweetly fruited and rich on the nose - very concentrated. The well-balanced palate is fresh, ripe and slightly honeyed on the entry, with crisp acidity and lovely touches of praline and spice lining the composed finish. A first class example of Pouilly Fuisse which represents great value for top white Burgundy.

When we first visited the Ch√¢teau about 25 years ago, Jean-Jaques Vincent said we could come but he had no wine to sell. After a 3 hour tour and tasting in the cellar, he took us to the tasting room to taste wine from bottle. At the end of the tasting he said "So what would you like to buy?" We replied "I thought you had nothing to sell." He said " well I have for the right people !!" And thus was born a great friendship and partnership.

The Vincent family of Château-Fuissé has long been regarded as owning one of the greatest estates in Pouilly-Fuissé. This exemplary wine sums up all that is great in the M√¢connais.

Château-Fuissé Pouilly-Fuissé T√™te De Cuvée is a blend of 20 wines grown on 40 different plots of clay-limestone soils. Plots in Pouilly, with a high limestone content in the soil, contribute intense perfume yet more delicacy in the mouth. Those in Fuissé, where clay is more prominent, are less aromatic but fuller, more solid and structured. The average age of the vines is 30 years and 20% is fermented in stainless steel tanks, the rest in barrels. Depending upon the vintage, 20-30% of the barrels are new.

The obvious thing is the sheer quality that it offers. But then again, white Burgundy has become very expensive over the last decade and this is up with the best of Puligny and Meursault wines yet lacks the big price tag. We've worked with this estate for decades and never has the quality fallen below the finest.
