Meticulous wine-making have given this wine great precision and depth of flavour. It is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot and small amounts of Cabernet Franc and petit Verdot, the wine has a violet rim with wonderfully mineral aromas. The palate shows deep plum fruit with blackcurrant notes and a hint of cigar box and lead pencil shavings. Savoury and full flavoured, it has a further 15 to 20 years of drinking life ahead of it.

Château Gloria

Château Gloria is an unclassified estate located within Bordeaux’s renowned St-Julien appellation producing wines that rival the quality of even the most prestigious classed growths. Henri Martin, hailing from a cooper’s background, founded Château Gloria in 1942. He embarked on an ambitious winemaking journey, acquiring vineyard plots from esteemed classed growth properties like Gruaud-Larose, Talbot, Lagrange, and Léoville-Barton. By the mid-1960s, he owned 50 hectares of vineyards throughout the appellation. Today, his first plot, Château Gloria, is managed by son-in-law Jean-Louis Triaud.
