This second wine of the famous Château d'Issan in Margaux is a real star. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot was just short of half of the total crop and when you taste it, it's hard to believe that it's the second wine. As you would expect for the appellation, it's elegant and slightly feminine yet lacking nothing in power or complexity. Really well balanced and silky it slips down like the proverbial silk knickers with a delicious mouthful of black fruit standing proud. A great glass of wine to be savoured with some top food choices.
