Located in Côte des Blancs at the heart of Champagne’s “Golden Triangle,” Maison Perrier-Jouët has stood out since its inception for its founders’ decision to focus on Chardonnay production. Côte des Blancs is the ideal terroir for this, as the area’s chalky soils impart an added layer of minerality, freshness, and acidity to the grapes. This is what gives rise to the delicate floral notes that have become the signature of Perrier-Jouët champagnes.
Guided by the expertise of cellar master Séverine Frerson, all of the estate’s grapes are hand-picked and delicately pressed, plot by plot, to preserve their distinctive aromatic profile and delicate freshness. With access to 50 crus, Séverine then undertakes the art of blending different cuvées and incorporating reserve wines as required, declaring a new vintage only when the fruit displays exceptional promise.
Maison Perrier-Jouët has also become a pioneer in regenerative viticulture. Committed to fostering a thriving ecosystem, they utilize farming practices that nurture the surrounding flora, vines, and soil. These include the promotion of root growth through soil tilling, enhancing soil fertility and drainage by introducing grass cover, and optimizing water retention. The introduction of beehives, low walls, and trees offers sanctuary for local fauna to nest and flourish, enriching biodiversity season after season.
