Meet the Team: Jenny Carroll

Meet the Team: Jenny Carroll

This month we’d like to shine a spotlight on someone many of you will already know well — our long-standing Office Manager, Jenny. Jenny keeps the Gerrard Seel engine running smoothly; with her keen eye for detail she is coordinating logistics, supporting the team, and making sure everything’s in its right place. Jenny has been an integral part of the team for many years, and her calm efficiency and positive attitude make all the difference behind the scenes.

We caught up with Jenny to learn a little more.

Q: How did you get into the wine trade?

I’ve always enjoyed sharing a bottle of wine with friends and family, so when the opportunity came to join a local independent wine merchant, I couldn’t miss it.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?

For me, it’s fascinating to learn just how many moving parts are involved in getting a bottle of wine from the vineyard to the customer. Theres's bottling and shipping, liaising with suppliers and ensuring everything runs on schedule .Its a new challenge everyday.

Q: What’s your current favourite wine on the list?

At the moment, I’m really enjoying Pinot Grigio Alisia — it’s fresh, easy-drinking, and perfect with so many different dishes. I’m also a big fan of the Pezat Rosé, for me a fun a refreshing wine for relaxing with friends.

Q: Any fun facts or hobbies outside of work?

I love travelling — whether it’s a long holiday or a city break, exploring new places is one of my favourite things to do. I also really enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes, and when I’m not in the kitchen, I’ll be curled up with a book. I’m part of a couple of book clubs, which is a lovely way to discover new authors and spend time with fellow book lovers.

Q: Dream food and wine pairing?

Prawn linguine with a cold, crisp Pinot Grigio. It’s so simple but reliable — fresh, zesty, and full of flavour.

Q: Finally — red, white, or fizz?

Definitely white or rosé! I love their fresh and fruity nature, easy to enjoy by themselves or pair with food.
