This month we are meeting Our Sales Administrator Dawn. You probably already know Dawn from when you call and email to place your orders, she keeps things running, processing orders and organising deliveries to make sure you get the wine you want when you need it. As well as great organisation and humour, her willingness for helping people means that you get the very best service, so lets have a quick chat:
Q: How did you get into the wine trade?
I’d worked in hospitality for over 30 years — everything from front-of-house roles in restaurants and bars to event organising and event sales. Joining Gerrard Seel felt like a natural next step, combining my love of hospitality with a growing interest in wine.
Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?
Talking to and getting to know our customers, you all have such great stories and allows me to still feel part the hospitality family.
Q: What’s your current favourite wine on the list?
That’s tough! I love the Astoria Fashion Victim Rosé, its a lovely fresh and fruity fizz. Then in contrast the Clemens Busch Riesling which is full bodied, savoury and intense.
Q: Any fun facts or hobbies outside of work?
Hiking either by myself or with the family, good for the soul to be outside. I also love eating out with friends, nothing wrong with an evening full of good food, good company and good wine!
Q: Dream food and wine pairing?
I’m a fizz lover so Spanish Tapas with Cava or Prosecco with Chicken Milanese, both are absolute favourites.
Q: Finally — red, white, or fizz?
Fizz always! Whether its French, Spanish, Italian, White or Pink, if it’s got bubbles I’ll have a glass.
