Bouchard Finlayson | Walker Bay, South Africa
Between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas, the Bouchard Finlayson Estate is located in the appropriately named Heaven and Earth Valley. The estate was established in 1989 by Peter Finlayson who was already known for his winemaking achievements with Walker Bay. Peter’s commitment to this land is illustrated by his dedication to biodiversity and conservation. Of the 125-hectare estate, only 22 hectares are dedicated to vineyards. The remaining land is a sanctuary for a remarkable native fynbos flora.

Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard | Burgundy, France
At Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard, the key to producing rich wines with strong mineral intensity lies in a commitment to organic methods and the judicious use of oak aging. This estate came into existence in 1985 when the Gagnard estate was divided between two daughters. Each daughter combined her husband’s name with Gagnard to form their new domaines. Laurence, the daughter of Jacques and Marie-Josephe Gagnard, married Richard Fontaine, an air force engineer. Today, their capable daughter, Céline, is an integral part of the estate.

Why choose Gerrard Seel?
About us
Founded in Warrington by Richard Hales and Roger Barlow in July 1984, for forty years we’ve been supplying the North West with food-friendly artisan wines sourced from some of the world’s leading growers. Gerrard Seel has an unmatched reputation for providing a reliable, personal service and a cracking selection of wines, thanks to our founders’ energy and enthusiasm.
In 2022 we joined forces with award-winning wine club Honest Grapes and the last 18 months have been an exciting time for us. Founders Tom Harrow & Nathan Hill have brought a wealth of new artisan growers to the already impressive Gerrard Seel portfolio, alongside upgrades and investment in the team, our storage, warehousing and enterprise systems.
We have a wonderful heritage in the North West and we’re looking forward to improving our service and selection even more.
