The winery began commercially in 1991, when the family decided to vinify its own grapes rather than sell them to the local cooperative. The starting point was just three hectares inherited from Enzo’s grandfather, including parcels in Brunate, Boiolo, Roscaleto and Bricco del Dente. The early winery was essentially a converted stable, and the project was encouraged by friends and fellow producers including Roberto Voerzio, Alessandro Fantino and Bartolo Mascarello. Today the family farms around 22 hectares across La Morra, Barolo, Monforte d’Alba, Serralunga d’Alba, Roddino and Sinio, producing around 100,000 bottles a year.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe focus is firmly on Nebbiolo and the individual vineyards, with the estate producing Barolo from Brunate, Boiolo, Case Nere, Fossati and Arione, alongside a Barolo Riserva and a Comune di La Morra bottling. The vineyards range from roughly 300 to 480 metres, with Arione in Serralunga sitting around 450m. Since the early days, Boglietti has moved towards a more restrained style: less new oak, shorter time in wood and gentler extraction, aiming for Barolos that are finer and more vibrant rather than simply bigger. The estate has followed organic principles for years and achieved official organic certification for all its grapes from the 2017 vintage. Fermentations use indigenous yeasts, sulphur is kept to a minimum, and the Barolos are bottled unfiltered.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn other words, Boglietti is about vineyard character rather than winemaking fireworks. The estate’s range gives you a particularly good look at how different sites in La Morra and Serralunga can shape Nebbiolo — from the structured, mineral Brunate and Fossati to the more elegant, sandy, fossil-rich Arione. Boglietti's version has the archetypal La Morra character: dried roses, dark cherry, tar, and that unmistakable iron-tinged edge.
