The winery works with hillside vineyards around Salemi and Santa Ninfa, producing wines that highlight local grapes such as Nero d’Avola, Frappato and Grillo. Today the brand forms part of the portfolio of the Fantini Group.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e‘Baglio’ refers to the property’s original internal courtyard, surrounded by warehouses once used for collecting and processing grapes. The vineyards lie between 300 and 600 metres above sea level on clay and volcanic soils, in a landscape of rolling vines dotted with broom and prickly pear.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrappato is harvested at full ripeness and fermented slowly in small stainless-steel tanks to preserve its natural freshness. Nero d’Avola is left longer on the vine for light natural dehydration, then gently pressed and fermented at controlled temperatures.
